Assumptions & Truth

“Your kids deserve to die.””They should be taken away from you.””You should go to prison.”Did you know those are actual things said to families like mine, over a decision made for ourselves, based on our genetics, individual health, and the fact that my kids are each uniquely created beings? I do not compare this to lifelong hardships others have to suffer. But I believe there are similarities at the root of it.

I believe it honestly comes down to a lack of understanding. We’re so quick to throw stones and judge people based on things we DON’T UNDERSTAND. Our justification for doing so is based on a narrative handed to us, not one that we came to understand through our own efforts. We don’t like to stop and hear the other side, to learn, to research, to make an attempt…because that can be extremely uncomfortable for us if we have to come to terms with ourselves, and these days everyone wants easy, comfortable, and less responsibility.

Along the lines of the example I used at first, I get it, because I was one of those people. I may not have had the personality that prompted me to say those things out loud, or be quite as violent, but I certainly thought them (such are the sins of a shy introvert, huh?). I did so because it’s what I was told. It’s what was “mainstream” and what was easy. Facing the reality that I didn’t understand what I was talking about, and that I was contributing to hatred and evil and even violence toward someone else…that was a tough pill to swallow, but it had to happen.

My point is, don’t assume that just because you’ve been fed something your whole life, that it’s correct. Also don’t fall for the baloney that it’s wrong to question the narrative.

Take science for example…we put so much stock in “science” (even basing worldwide decisions and potentially life-altering mandates on it) and yet it’s ALWAYS CHANGING. Experts are only experts because we’ve proclaimed them as such. There’s ONE Guide out there who is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, and He has provided us a guidebook as well. Outside of that, it’s SO important that we know why we are doing/choosing/thinking/saying what we are, because if the root of our belief lies in the ever changing false foundation of this world, chances our, if we’re not wrong already, we’re probably going to end up that way at some point or another. We were created to stand firm in truth. Not drama, not lies, not popularity, not comfort, not majority or even necessarily minority….just simply, TRUTH. Just don’t live by the assumption that what you’re being fed qualifies as such.

Hi there! My name is Brynna and I'm wife to my favorite paramedic and mama to five awesome children. We homeschool, and for a year and a half, we lived in an RV so we could travel, grow closer as a family, and prayerfully decide on a place to build our new home. I am passionate about true wellness, and I run a business with Q Sciences, where I'm able to share my love for health. I've been also found myself moving into a position of ministry for women who've suffered miscarriages/pregnancy loss, as I've had nine of my own, and I love to support and encourage young mom
